Director of Family Ministries
Permanent Part Time
We are looking for a high capacity, missions minded, people/heart focused, intentional caring person to join our staff in
the area of overseeing Family Ministries.
Aside from a growing relationship with Christ, understanding of the DNA and functioning of Hope Bible Church Kelowna,
and a natural gift/ability to disciple leaders and families, in a gospel centered way your duties shall include the following:
Family Ministries
- Infuse the 6 distinctives as values within Family Ministries, as lived out through the 5G’s
- Disciple Leaders in spiritual discipleship of kids and parents, and in relationship with one another
- Disciple Parents in spiritual discipleship and evangelism of their children
- Collaborate with the Family Ministry Teams to ensure Sunday mornings are well prepared for, by:
- Connecting Leaders through the week in planning and praying
- Ensuring adequate coverage of people serving in this area
- Oversight of the planning and preparing of resources for Family Ministries
- Connecting families and encouraging Leader to intentionally care for them
(you are not responsible for doing all of this, but more of a logistics liaison in this area – collaborating & working with the Team of volunteers in practically scheduling them as well as equipping them via training, and spiritual discipleship)
- Encourage Leaders in the area of exercising their God given gifts, in faith; dreaming, praying, and planning with the team(s)

This is a paid role and your regular workweek will be 15-30 hours per week with any modification or additional hours to
be preauthorized in writing by your Supervisor in accordance with the policies set out in our Employee Handbook.

- Notice of changes to the Sunday service, specifically Family Ministry focused
- Confirming volunteers
- Finalizing Planning Center details
- Encourage leaders
- Sunday (8:00am-12:30pm)
- Oversight of Family Ministries
- Check in with & encourage Leaders
- Encourage Families (parents & kids)
- Monday is generally a complete ministry day off.
Discipleship Pastor / Director of Discipleship
Permanent Full Time
We are looking for a full time Discipleship Pastor / Director of Discipleship to join the staff team.
This is a 2 fold role:
- Management of the Small Group Ministry, working alongside the Discipleship Team:
- Identifying, recruiting, enlisting, and equipping Small Group Leaders
- Building into, training and equipping, and encouraging and praying with Flock Leaders
- Developing additional Discipleship Ministries in keeping with your 5G Discipleship model and Discipleship Pathway
- Shepherding People, working closely with the Elders and Senior Pastor:
- In accessing and administering resources such as Benevolence, Biblical Counselling, etc
- Facilitating the word of God being applied and carried out in individuals lives. This often looks like lots of conversation, much discussion, and working through the application of Scripture with respect to the individuals current situation and circumstances
- Officiating milestones such as weddings, funerals, parent commissionings, baptisms, etc
- Opportunity to participate in the Preaching Team at Hope

Church Planter

Hope Bible Church is an active part of the Great Commission Collective in the Okanagan Valley British Columbia, with a mission to plant healthy churches that are boldly proclaiming God’s Word, passionate about worshipping Jesus, purposeful in discipleship, dependent on fervent prayer, and actively on mission.
Our staff is a team of people living in a growing relationship with Christ, who have come to understand the DNA and functioning of Hope Bible Church and have a familiarity and aptitude for the part they play in glorifying God through the fulfillment of the Great Commission in the spirit of the Great Commandment. (Matthew 28:19-20 | Matthew 22:37-39).
And we are looking for a full time Church Planter to join the staff team.
Church planting can be the most fulfilling and yet the hardest task, so at Hope Bible Church we want to ensure that you are well supported and prepared to church plant.
What this means is that we:
- desire you to come on staff, be a part of the current Ministry Teams, occasionally sit at the Elder table, and be a part of the life of the church, so as to catch our vision, mission, values, and core beliefs.
- will provide spiritual, technical, and financial support from Hope Bible Church Kelowna.
- want to free you up to be, dependently on the Lord, developing a core group, discipling ministry teams, and bearing witness of Jesus Christ to the community God has called us to plant in.
With that, you:
- desire to study and learn the current culture, values, and philosophy of ministry at Hope Bible Church. We often tell people it is tough to explain and ask them to spend some time with us, to further understand how we function and live out biblical precepts as staff and a leadership team.
- will bring energy and enthusiasm and be able to successfully communicate Hope’s vision so that people will commit spiritually, physically, and financially to being a partner in this Church Plant
- desire to, dependently on the Lord, develop a core group, disciple ministry teams, and bear witness of Jesus Christ to the community God has called us to plant in.
As part of the preparation and training for this role, you will also undergo a church planter assessment and Church Planter Training as provided by the Great Commission Collective.
